Dr. Helgager received his medical degree from Northwestern University and enjoys improving the quality of life for his patients through joint reconstructive and arthroscopic surgery. He is one of the few physicians in San Diego that performs the clinically proven Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedure. Dr. Helgager specializes in hip, knee, shoulder surgery, arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, and hip resurfacing surgery. He completed his residency at Northwestern University Chicago, IL. He has been practicing for 47 years and is certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Helgager is affiliated with 9 different hospitals in the area.
