Dr. Binder received his combined M.D and Ph.D. degrees from Duke University in 1999. After graduation, he completed a surgical Internship and Neurosurgery Residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and has been in private practice since 2010. He received the prestigious William P. Van Wagenen international traveling Fellowship from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and runs the NIH-funded Translational Neuroscience Laboratory.
