Dr. Cooperman received his Medical degree from UCSD and completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Hospital. He was the first Orthopaedic Surgeon in North County San Diego to earn Subspecialty Board Certification in Sports Medicine. He has extensive experience in advanced arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder and is the only orthopaedic surgeon in North County, San Diego with in-depth training and experience in the non-operative and arthroscopic management of hip disorders. Dr. Cooperman has been on the forefront of joint replacement procedures of the hip and knee, pioneering the direct anterior approach for hip arthroplasty using the specialized Hana Table.
